Good reviews keep pouring in for Robert Gray's latest CD release "Up Until Now".
The 37-year-old local artist isn't shy about ignoring the traditional boundaries and is quite comfortable with making the leap between soft rock, country, smooth jazz and easy listening. Evidence of this talent can be heard within the first two tracks of his CD with 'Sunshine' and 'Blue Sky'. 'Sunshine' is already hitting the country air waves on stations including CHYR 96.7 FM and CKSL AM 1410. Meanwhile, easy listeners and soft rock fans may already be familiar with 'Blue Sky' which is carried on CKSY 95.1 FM (Chatham) and CBC AM 1550 with featured selection of soft rock, country and smooth jazz getting quality air play over a number of area radio stations. Two more songs of his new 12-track CD are also on local air waves including 'Our Old Lives' and 'Part Of Me'.
Versatility is key for this crossover talent who enjoys writing music from his personal experiences. Robert dedicates a number of his selections to family and friends who have touched his life. This connection is one he hopes that others can relate to as well. If his local performances at festivals including the Apple Festival, Tomato Festival and other community events are an indication, his audiences are finding this connection a true reality. The same audiences can't help but walk away with raised spirits and positive thoughts and hearty smiles. His message seems clear through every note and word—live each moment to the fullest and don't take anything in your life for granted.

In bringing his latest musical inspiration to hard copy form, Robert put his years of musical experience into a memorable collection worthy of playback again and again. Before heading into his current solo effort, Robert was a member of a Kingsville band named "The" right after high school. "The" featured many talented members including Dan Nautiste of Kingsville who is currently playing keyboards for Canadian Country Artist, Michelle Wright. He remained with this local band until 1982.
After getting married in 1987 and beginning a career with Ontario Hydro, Robert slowly returned to pursue his musical interests and released his first recording, a six-track production called, "The Robert Gray Project." Inspired by the results of this recording, Robert went on to collaborate with longtime Valdy/Burton Cummings guitarist, Norm MacPherson to produce "Up Until Now."
His newest recording is available at HMV, Sam The Record Man, Dale's Music Room, AVE County Fair Mall, Paul Foster C.A. and D.T. Studios in Essex.
There's a growing number of music lovers falling for the sounds of local singer/songwriter Robert Gray. Gray is well on his way to stardom thanks, in part, to his versatility. Already gaining rave reviews for his new CD release "Up Until Now", the Leamington man is crossing all music boundaries with featured selections of soft rock, country and smooth jazz getting quality air play over a number of area radio stations.
